This Sundays Events
We are still collecting commitment/estimate of giving cards as part of our annual appeal. You may mail them in or fill one out for Sunday. So far we have collected less cards than last year.

The title of my sermon is "Love Changes Everything" and we will be exploring together how the love of Christ for all people changes how we view and understand each other. His grace gives us a new vision of the world.

Reminder We Have Two Services During Our Remodeling of the Sanctuary.

Due to remodeling the sanctuary and the logistical issues with worshiping in the Fellowship Hall, we will be having only the 8:30 and 11:00 service with Sunday School at its regular time. After the remodeling, we will resume our three service routine. The remodeling should be complete the first part of March. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The remodeling is going well. We have the pews out and ceiling repairs have begun.

Playground Update
We met with the contractor and have a plan to resolve the issues. Work should resume next week, weather permitting. The council is on top of this.

Youth Transition Team
We have 2 face-to-face interviews arranged. Both will be attending Sunday morning services to meet the congregation and give you opportunity to talk to them. They will also be leading a combined confirmation and high school Sunday School Class during the Sunday School hour.

Habitat for Humanity Service Opportunity

Habitat for Humanity Pasadena is building a house in Pasadena on Ann Street. Thrivent for Lutherans and Churches in the Pasadena area are supplying volunteer labor and funds to build the house. Peace Lutheran Church is part of that effort. We are currently soliciting volunteers to participate in the build. We are also beginning a fund raising effort. Our goal is to raise $1000 by the end of February. The other participant churches are also raising funds.

There is a sign up sheet in the narthex for volunteers. If you have not signed up you may continue to do so. Your time commitment is for whatever you can manage. We will keep you posted about volunteer work times as we get closer to the build date.

You can participate in the fundraising by purchasing a virtual board of siding or box of siding nails. A board of siding costs a $10.00 donation and a box of nails costs a $5.00 donation. You will receive a certificate documenting your donation and we will post a “board” or “box” with your name on the bulletin board as we track progress toward our goal (you may remain anonymous if you wish). We only have 2 weeks to meet this goal so we need your prompt attention to this appeal. I will be in the narthex starting on February 21 to collect donations. Ted Brenneman – Peace Habitat Champion.

PCM Food Ministry
Souper Bowl food donations collected here at Peace was very successful. We collected over 25 bags of food and it was delivered on Tuesday and they said to thank everyone who contributed.

On the First Sunday of each month, we hold a Food Drive for PCM. Any staple foods are welcome but for the next 2 months we are putting a BIG PUSH to collect jelly and cereal. The Creative Hands want to challenge each and every member of Peace to donate a jar of jelly and cereal (store brands are fine). PCM gives out over 100 jars of jelly a week. We hope to collect 100 jars during the month of March.

Krause Children's Center
We are still collecting for the Easter packages for the Teens at the Krause Center.

We need :
Ladies size Fun socks (30)
Men's White Sport Socks (30)
60 decks of cards
60 Small Plush Beanie size toys
Travel size Toiletries
60 chapsticks

There is a basket under the WOP table to put the items in. Thank you.

Cathy’s Angels
I want to thanks everyone who generously donated to Cathy's Angels. All of your help was greatly appreciate.

At this time they are no longer taking donations. They have lost their lease and are having to relocate. A home has been found for the women, but the resale shop will be closed after this weekends sale. Again thanks so much for your help. Have a blessed day. Carol Young

Lost And Found
There are two baskets filled with miscellaneous items that have been found around the church in the past year. You’re welcome to come by the church office to look through this basket for your belongings. If no one has claimed these items by the end of February they will be donated to a local resale shop.

LWR Fair Trade Coffee Project
The midweek Bible Study group is a “partner” in the coffee business and sells coffee, tea and hot cocoa mix through the Lutheran World Relief Fair Trade Coffee Project. Micah 6:8 calls us, as Christians, to do justice, love, mercy and walk humbly. The LWR Coffee Project helps Lutherans answer that call by righting the injustices faced by small-scale farmers around the world. By using Fair Trade coffee and other products in our congregation and homes, we are helping farmers receive a fair price that covers their cost of production and guarantees them a living wage for their labors. Look for the table in the narthex on Sunday.
