This Sundays Events

Here it is! The beginning of Holy Week and the stark stories of Jesus journey to the cross and earthshaking event of Easter. This Sunday we will have our traditional procession of palms. We ask you to gather in the courtyard area. We will have a trumpet to lead us in the traditional, "All Glory, Laud and Honor".

We will also do a congregation reading of the passion according to St. Luke followed by a brief sermon "The March of Christ". If you want, to honor the day, wear red as a way to mark the day.

We will have our last worship in the fellowship hall this Sunday! The carpet is in the sanctuary and the pews are being installed.

Beginning April 18 we will return to our three service schedule.

One of the nice improvements to the sanctuary is that you can now turn on the lights without having to go to the room by the vesting/conference room. The switch is by the door on the organ side of the room.
Special Note, We will have one service at 11:00 with Sunday School at 9:45 on Sunday April 11. We will follow the service with a meal of brisket and sausage. We ask those who are coming to bring a side dish or dessert. We will also have entertainment. Looks to be a great day.

Holy Week Schedule ( All Holy Week Services Will Be In The Sanctuary, Except Palm Sunday)
March 28: Palm Sunday- Procession of Psalms and congregation reading of the passion according to St. Luke
April 1: Maundy Thursday services with communion 12:00 and 7:00
April 2: Good Friday Tenebrae service at 7pm
April 4: Easter Services at 7:00am(sunrise), Easter breakfast at 7:30, 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00. (No Sunday School)

Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 3rd at 10:00am for the 2 year olds to 5th graders. The hunt starts at 10:20 a.m., so don’t be late. We will also play games and have a light lunch. We would also like the kids to bring fresh flowers to help decorate a cross for Easter Sunday. If you would like to donate individually wrapped candy for the hunt, there is a box in the narthex for your donations.

Playground Update
The front playground is up and ready for action. Tomorrow we should complete the back section and it should be ready for play. We are working on safety rules and other final projects.

Congregation Survey
Today is the last day to complete the online survey.

Handwritten surveys will continue to be included in responses until Easter Sunday. There is a secured slotted box on the table in the narthex for your responses.

Church Council is conducting a brief survey to better understand your needs and concerns in our continued Mission at Peace Lutheran Church. We are asking for your prompt and honest feedback in a few key areas to insure that we are providing the right leadership to build a stronger Church Community and enable you to grow spiritually and emotionally.

The survey will be available at the following link for online responses. Council will also be handing out the survey at Sunday services for several weeks. We will provide a secure slotted box in the Narthex for return of the surveys. Please fill out the survey only once so that we have an accurate reflection of member responses.

The online survey is available at http://www.quia.com/sv/378942.html

Council will provide feedback on member responses shortly after Easter. Where appropriate, Council will review areas of concern with the congregation. We may try to gain further clarity on the issue as we look for solutions to your concerns.

If you have questions, please contact any member of your Church Council.

We thank you in advance for your participation. Please prayerfully consider your responses to help us build a stronger Peace Lutheran Church.
