This Sundays Events

Sunday's Sermon
This Sunday we hear Jesus tell us that the Christian life is not a walk through the park. We will experience hardship for what we believe, yet not one hair on our head will perish and by our endurance we will gain our souls. What is at stake in our suffering are our souls. We fight not to overcome all suffering, which is an impossibility, but to stay true to our faith and our identity as children of God. The gaining of our souls is being true to who we are. I hope you will enjoy the sermon.

This Sunday we will have a bake potato fundraiser to raise money for the labyrinth and we will also be selling Fair Trade coffee and tea.

Other News..................

On Wednesday, November 17, we will be joining with other Christians from around Pasadena for our 2nd annual Community Thanksgiving and communion service and pot luck. The meal starts at 5:45 pm and the service starts at 7:00 pm. This was a huge success last year.

We will have the service at First United Methodist Pasadena on Fairmont (copper top church). Bring your favorite dish or dessert. I will be helping with the presiding at communion. Pastor Jim Freitag from Parkgate Church will be preaching.

From The Youth Director
I cannot thank you enough for giving me the opportunity to give the sermon last week. However, I do not want you to forget the question I proposed in the sermon, are you ready for Sainthood? We all know of our own saints in our lives that inspire us, but never forget that you are saints. Never forget that it is through your Baptism, you are given a clean heart and through communion we are fed when we are hungry, and through our community we are uplifted in the message of Jesus Christ, so take this message to the streets and tell your neighbor about the promises and blessings that Christ has given us.

God Bless,
Ben Remmert, Dir. of Youth and Family Ministry

Creative Hands
We will meet on November 15th at 6:30 pm, upstairs to work on Krause Center gift bags and holiday cards. This will be a time for us to talk of things to do next year.

We are still collecting for the Krause Center Girls and Boys: single decks of cards, small stuff toys. travel toiletries, fun socks for girls ( ladies sizes please) and low cut socks for the boys ( men's sizes), and chap sticks. Many of the teens are troubled kids and the items are limited that these kids can have for their safety and that of others. We will do 30 girls gifts and 30 boys gifts. We plan to mail these in time for Christmas along with their "Treat Cards". The kids look forward to the holiday cards with a small treat enclosed.

Please continue to save your used inks and toners. Any brand and size is accepted. There is a box on the Women of Peace table in the narthex. These help off set the cost of cards making supplies. Jany and Sherri
