Sunday's Sermon
This Sunday our very own Ben Remmert, Director of Youth and Family, will be preaching. He has a wonderful message and I look forward to you hearing him witness his faith. We will also have the Baptism of Destiny Lynn Brinson, the daughter of Jeff Brinson and Kristin Franklin at the 11:00 am service. We will also be remembering all the faithfully departed by lighting candles and reading the names of those who have joined the great chorus of God this past year. Many find this very comforting. If you would like, wear white as a sign of our sainthood in Christ.

From The Youth Director
A huge thank you to our volunteers and our confirmation students for the success of our Reformation Day Celebration! Our celebration was a huge success, and I could not be happier with the service that our confirmation students and volunteers did for our youth and families here at Peace. Thank you. We are going to leave up the 95 Theses on the doors of the church and the Martin Luther Timeline (for a few weeks) so that we can all remember our proud Lutheran heritage.

This Sunday is All Saints Sunday, and there is so much that I can say about this day, but I am giving our sermon so I will not go into detail. However, I want this week for us to take some time to remember our loved ones who lived their Baptismal calling. Happy All Saints Day!

Remember that our Young Adults Chillin events are being held on Wednesdays from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm, and our Senior High Youth Group meets on Sundays from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm. Mark your calendars. We are going to try and see if this helps with schedules for our youth. If you have any questions you can contact me.

God Bless,
Ben Remmert, Dir. of Youth and Family Ministry

Every third Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm, we will meet at Peace Lutheran for some time to come together to play. We are also developing our Youth and Family Leadership Team “DEEP” where we are going to dive into our ministry together, head first. There will also be a time for us to come together in devotion where we explore our faith together. I would love to have our parents and youth at these meetings so we can build further on our community together!

This is an event for the parents as well so make sure to mark your calendar for Nov. 14th at 9:45 am for the classroom instruction and Nov. 21st at 11:00 am to be recognized and blessed (with a special gift to remember this milestone). Loss Is Part of Being Alive: A New Class On Grief Recognition and Response
This new class, led by Carole Martin, begins on November 7th during the Sunday School hour in classroom 201 upstairs.

Loss and grief are a universal experience and bad things do happen to good people of all ages. Death is not the only loss that causes us to grieve. Many problems in our lives stem from grief unresolved and unhealed. When we do not recognize and work through our grief we lose an opportunity to heal our soul and heart, and to be a help to others who walk these paths. Areas that will be covered are:

• Bible’s response to grief and loss
• Ways Religion helps
• Ways Religion hurts
• Faces of grief
• Recognizing different types of grief
• Stages of grief
• What to say and what not to say when a person is grieving
• Healthy and unhealthy grief
• What can hinder recovery
• Satan is an opportunist
• The transition process
• Four key facts about grief
• How to handle holidays and special occasions
• Paths to healing
• Growing through loss

We would like to also put a push on for Holiday foods, things that can be put in a Holiday Basket, such as veggies, canned fruits, etc. We will take these items for their Christmas baskets. Please put your items for the PCM in or on the cabinet in the hallway between narthex and fellowship hall. Monetary donations are also very much appreciated. Please make your check out to Peace Lutheran Church and in the memo section write “PCM”.

PCM Clothing: The center is in the change over mode from spring and summer clothing to winter. If you have spring and summer clothing please hold at this time, winter things and shoes are greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Jany
